End It Myself

All I knew was that I wanted my body to be with Shane’s. I didn’t wanna get up without a soul and be a danger to my friends.

With all the strength I had left in me I stood up to search for Shane’s gun. In the midst of my infected ankle, and the unbearable amount of pain it caused me, I saw it in the grass a couple of feet away. I limped over to the gun and picked it up. I turned back to Shane’s dead undead body. It took both thumbs to cock the hammer back.

The gunshots were still going off near the house, so I turned around to look one last time. What I saw shocked me, and I almost lost my grip on the gun I had in my hand.

Walkers had surrounded the house, all around the house, and were banging on the windows and doors. I saw one window had been smashed in and some walkers were throwing themselves into the hole. There was a pile up in the window as someone kept shooting them as soon as they showed their rotting heads.

More walkers had surrounded the barn where apparently more of the group was hiding out. They were shooting them left and right, but I was sure that they were going to run out of bullets and shells soon. This was the end of them; the end of all of us.

I tore myself away from the horrid sight and got down on my hands and knees to crawl back to Shane. Wrapping my arm back around him, I held the gun up to my temple, swallowed a hard lump in my throat, and pulled the trigger.

BAM!!!!
